Operate heavy equipment including motor graders, backhoes, front-end loaders, and tandem-axle dump trucks for the Jefferson County Road Department. Primary responsibilities include grading and maintaining approximately 250 miles of unpaved county roads, clearing ditches and right-of-way vegetation, installing and repairing drainage culverts, hauling fill and limerock material, and responding to storm debris clearing operations. Position reports to the Road Department Superintendent.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required. Minimum 2 years of verifiable experience operating heavy construction equipment. Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or B with tanker endorsement required, or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire. Ability to perform physically demanding outdoor work in all weather conditions including extreme heat. Valid Florida driver's license with clean driving record. Perform residential and commercial building inspections for Jefferson County to ensure compliance with the 8th Edition (2023) Florida Building Code. Conduct plan reviews, issue permits, and perform foundation, framing, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and final inspections. Dual role includes code enforcement duties: investigating complaints, documenting violations of the Jefferson County Code of Ordinances, issuing notices of violation, and presenting cases before the Code Enforcement Special Magistrate. Requirements

Requirements
